That's me second from the left. This was my first summer season!
I began as a Butlins Redcoat at The Grand Hotel in Cliftonville. I remained with Butlins for two and a half years. I then entertained at many holiday centres through-out the UK, including Mill Rythe on Hayling Island (3 Yrs). The Welcome Holiday Park, Dawlish, Devon (entertainments manager). The Hotel Burstin, Folkestone, and many more.
We
met paul in February 2005 when we were providing
entertainment & Face Painting for hisGod
Daughter.
We
were booked to provide a 2 hour party for 3 year old Anya in Hampton,
Middlesex. We had provided entertainment for the their Son
on 2 previous occasions. The parents told us that at some
time during the party, Anya's God parents would be arriving to see
her blow out the candles on her cake. They didn't tell us who
they were! Towards the end of the party, whilst I was still
doing my show, I glanced to the back of the room, & after a
couple of double takes, was amazed to see Paul & Heather
McCartney standing there!
I
think a lot of the parents who were with their 3 year olds were as
suprised as me. Once the children & parents had left, Paul
came up to me & said something along the lines of 'You did a good
job entertining so many 3 year olds'. I think It was then that
it dawned on me just who it was That I was speaking to, I was
absolutely star struck!. Paul was great, he just chatted away
with an interest in how long I had been a childrens entertainment.
I think I made a bad joke saying 'he wouldn't understand the
pressures of being an entertainer' Luckily, he laughed.
We have since provided entertainment for Paul's daughter Beatrice on a couple of occasions
My main interest apart from Magic is Golf.I am a member
at Sherfield Oaks golf club Nr Basingstoke & enjoy playing 2 or 3 times a week.

1Joint parties Some entertainers charge per child, I charge for my time. So why not have a joint party, invite as many children as you can fit in, and halve, third or quarter your costs. It makes sense to me!
2.Travelling area |Areas In am willing to travel to. I live in Reading, Berkshire & I try to stay within a 30 mile radius (i.e. all of berkshire, North Hants, West Surrey, South Oxon & South Bucks + West middlesex). Having said that, I would be willing to travel further on a quiet midweek day. I hope this is useful.
Balloon models Some entertainers spend the last 15 or so minutes of their show, making balloon models for the children. Although I agree the children like to have a balloon model to take away, I believe if you sell a magic show, thats what you should do! I am happy to supply balloon models for the children @ 60p each or 20 for £10, 30 for ||£15 |(ask for larger quantities|)|I will make them and put in a bag for you to hand out, or if I don't have to rush to another party, I will make them up after my show.
